Judgment Based On Books Promise of the Witch King (The Sellswords #2)

Skimming through 80% of a book is a very disgusting experience. It leaves your brain dizzy.Ok, this was outrageously boring. Entreri and Jarlaxle get a treasure, and their employers send them to find a similar treasure. They meet a bunch of boring people about whom we don't care in the slightest, the fight a bunch of boring fights that mean absolutely nothing, and they retrieve the treasure. The end.Seriously, the amount of fights was absolutely ludicrous. This book is almost a direct



Following the events of Servant of the Shard, Entreri and Jarlaxle are hired by two dragon sisters, Tazmikella and Ilnezhara, to retrieve artifacts left behind by the powerful lich Witch-King, Zhengyi. On their mission, they ally with a group of adventurers to infiltrate a growing tower, resurrected inadvertantly by a half-orc whod attempted to decipher the fallen lichs tome. Entreri and Jarlaxle are at it again, except this time Salvatore introduces a setting on the opposite side of the world, thousands of miles away, and makes us learn about a dozen new characters, including a couple of dragons that make only the slightest of appearances. And somehow those dragons are political players instead of the legendary beasts seen in his other books, including the first book in this series. It's all pretty bizarre. Ok, I think I'm officially done with Salvatore. I've sort of been stuck on "the old girlfriend" scenario with him for years. You know, where enough time goes by since you've last checked in and you start thinking "hey, things weren't really that bad, we had some good times, maybe we should hang out again". It doesn't take long to remind you why you moved on originally...

Big let down from the previous book, Servant of the Shard, which was written several years before this.Hey, the idea is great - you've got Jarlaxle and Artemis going out on their own to some village. What I liked were some of the battle and the feel of a good D&D adventure.What I didn't like was the overall story for these two books. I felt Salvatore could have done better, and honestly I got the impression he just kind of wanted to get these done to fulfill some contractual obligations or

Again, dragged me along and it really did take all my ability not to sit and finish it in one sitting. Still fighting the urge to like these two main characters- Its hard to change your opinion after so long! Again, amazing!
