Narrative To Books House on the Bridge: Ten Turbulent Years with Diego Rivera

I learned a great deal about the art world in Belle Epoque Paris. It was not such a glamorous life for the talented young artists who arrived in Paris from all over the world. It was a struggle.
I loved the vivid descriptions of Paris, Bruges and other places the Riveras traveled. I felt like I was there and could taste the food.
The writing is clear; the dialog so natural I felt like I was eavesdropping; short chapters appeal to me as well.
I'd like to read more by this author because she makes me care what happens to the characters and I like the way Angeline deals with the challenges she faces. Though it covers difficult times, it does so with a thoughtful touch.
Like the other reviewer, I think I will read this book again.

Notice Appertaining To Books House on the Bridge: Ten Turbulent Years with Diego Rivera
I loved this book, not only because it is written well, but because I felt I was there for those ten turbulent years with Diego Rivera. You will find it a good read, Glory Beserra

A brilliant woman, Angeline Beloff arrives in Paris in 1909 and befriends a Spanish woman, Maria Gutierrez y Blanchard who is studying painting. Together they travel to Bruges where Maria introduces Angeline to Diego Rivera. Even though she suspects he is an adventurer who is not to be trusted, she is nonetheless seduced by his vast knowledge of art, his burgeoning talent and his skill at manipulating women as well as life. She gives herself away but is helped to find herself again by a circle

Great read. Found the information well written and accurate.

This is one of the best books I've ever read. I had a hard time putting it down. I will read it again after my daughter reads it. Sharon Upp is a gifted writer. I highly reccomend reading this one. I found it spellbounding.
