It was ok, a little too angsty but it was a nice quick readEdit - reread 21/3/20 - despite the fact that id already read this one i wanted to give it another go see if there was something i liked better secojd time around... Turns out i think the same stuff... Tjwre was angsty... There was a lot of glossing over and it was quickCam can't believe she's back in her hometown. When everything fell apart, it was the first place she'd thought of - familiar, warm, comforting, safe. Everything she needed right now. Hopefully it would help her daughter, Morgan, in this rough time. Cam's thoughts were of finding a way to survive the breakup of her marriage & helping her daughter accept that, her father's new wife & baby & the way he's pulling away from his "dad" role. It's a big deal & she also needs a job &
Cam Riley finds herself and her teen daughter back in her hometown in the book When We Left by Elena Aitken, book one in her Timber Creek series. After a painful divorce, Cam headed home to heal and start over. She hoped this change of scenery will also help her daughter stay out of trouble and come to grip with her new life. The only problem is encountering Officer Evan Anderson, Cams first love. Evan has never forgotten Cam but he broke her heart once and shes not sure she trusts him to not do

I really enjoyed Cam and Evans these two were High school sweethearts and had not seen each other in years. After her divorce, Cam decides to go back to Timber Creek with her daughter hoping for a fresh start for them both. But within minutes of being back home, she finds herself being pulled over by Evan. This was a great second chance romance and a super start to the series
A lovely story. Cam is reeling from going through divorce proceedings, after her marriage imploded on the television, for the world to see, her husband was a well-known anchorman on the local news channel. She fled from her home in Portland to Timber Creek, where she had spent a happy childhood, and still had friends. Her daughter Morgan was with her, but she could not cope with her father's apparent rejection of her, she had become morose and sullen, blaming her mother for everything. They had
After reading the blurb, I was so excited to start reading this book. I'm a sucker for first love, second chance love stories. After reading so many thrillers recently, I needed something light to read. Something that would make me fall in love with the characters. Something to make my heart swoon. This book definitely was not it. The story was slow and boring. I was ready to put the book down at the halfway point but I soldiered on. The "secret" on why Evan left was dull and uninteresting. I
Another beautifully written book by Elena Aitken. Cam Riley & her daughter, Morgen, were returning to Timber Creek to restart their lives since Cams husband, Ryan, cheated on her with a coanchor on TV, & now has a baby on the way. She is stopped by Officer Evan Anderson, for reckless driving & using her cell phone. Surprising to both people, the old feelings between the two, resurface causing everyone problems. The interaction between Cam & Brandon is anything what they imagine.
