I wanted to read the script, because I wanted to watch the film again, but wasn't sure if I could do it. Nothing is ever the same as the first time around. It's not that I even loved the film. My reaction when I first watched it years ago was a confusing mixture of being emotionally-drained but also feeling a somewhat painful sense of recognition. It's a labouring watch, to say the least. And yet, the themes and some of the dialogue made it feel like a really meaningful piece of art, and it felt

No one does the surreal in film like Charlie Kaufman. And yet, the story is so human and moving at the same time.

trust me, the movie will make a lot more sense after you read this - the genius of Kaufman's physcological Russian Dolls will dance across your cerebellum...
