Like a car accident...you can't stop reading Jackie Collins even though you are always disappointed!

I read this book in a day!! I couldn't put it down, such a great book!

What can I say? If you've read one Jackie Collins, you've read them all. I even had to make a new shelf for them, called FLUFF. Pretty much means if you don't want to use more than one brain cell, then this is for you. Don't get me wrong, there are times that this is just what I want. Hence the reason I read it but do they occupy a lot of my shelves....um, no. They are kind of like Classics for Paris Hilton. (All in good fun, Paris, don't sue me, I'm poor.)

This is a book you have to be in the mood for. I was coming of a 5 book dystopian roll and I needed something to take my mind off the obvious impending dystopian take over of all my literary favors. And this was it. This was the first book I have ever read written by Jackie Collins AND this is a series that I was able to jump into with the latest edition and not feel like I am missing the back story. I enjoyed stepping out of my comfort zone for a little while. The writing is great, I mean it's

I highly doubt my review is relevant, because I'm clearly .. clearly not the target audience for this book. But a friend recommended we read it, and after some protest I decided it couldn't hurt. I was wrong.So in the end the pain was not worth any gain. Really all I learn't from this, is that we have polar opposite opinions on what makes for good storytelling. Oh I admit there were times that I screamed at the book, at details I just did not need to know nor did I care to know. Things that did



I normally do enjoy a relatively mindless read, but honestly.. I now really don't understand the good things I've heard about Jackie Collins. There was no defined plot until about halfway through the book, and even then, it took until the last 75 pages to really pick up. Once I dragged myself to that point, I couldn't put it down. Unfortunately the first 400 pages could easily be considered 'take it, or leave it'. I couldn't get into it. I was really hoping her writing would be easy to follow
